Richard Anderson Lewis, 75, of Lewisburg, WV passed away Tuesday November 1, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA

Mr. Lewis was born December 23, 1935 in Ironton, OH and was the son of the late William and Rachel Anderson Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was a retired Accountant, a U. S. Army veteran, Vice President of the Master Gardeners, Treasurer of the WV Writers Club and a member of the Toastmasters Club.

Preceded in death by 4 Sisters and 1 Brother.

Survivors include wife Judith Ann Yaw Lewis; Nancy L. Bowens and husband David of Westerville, OH and Marcy Reese and husband Robert of Richmond, VA; sons, Michael Lewis of Marietta, OH, Scott Lewis and wife Billie of Zanesville, OH and John Lewis of Ashley, OH; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Services will 8:00 PM on Friday November 4, 2011 at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV

The family will receive their family and friends from 7:00 until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home on Friday November 4, 2011.

In Lieu of Flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to West Virginia Writers, Inc.; 906 18th St., Vienna, WV 26105 (www.wvwriters.org)

  I was sorry to read today that Mr. Lewis had died.  He was a talented writer and I enjoyed talking to him at the WV Writers Conferences.  My sister and brother-in-law live in Charlestown, WV and I went to Betty's in SHepherdstown, because he had recommended it.  The club will miss him.

  We were very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. While staying at the lovely Stone Manse, you and Dick, knowing I was with WVWriters, were kind enough to invite me to your living area for conversation. I'll never forget your thoughtfulness.
