Sandy and I were best friends in High School. We hung out together, we played music together, had the same interests/likes and dislikes and we did everything that most normal high school kids did as friends. We went on lots and lots of double-dates in my old Oldsmobile, went camping together, and we always were laughing and having such a great time. After high school, our lives took us in different directions, but we would run into each other from time to time, and would catch up with what was going on in each other's lives.
Sandy was a huge lovable bear, who loved to laugh, and enjoy life to it's fullest, and I will never, ever forget him for as long as I live. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family, and to all of those who care about him and knew him as either a friend, family member, or through his church.
I love you Sandy as if you were my own brother... I will surely miss you my friend.

Jean and family, Sanford was such a huge inspiration to me. He drove by church on the day after having been told he would need an operation for the brain tumor. He asked me to pray that his faith would not fail. We prayed that day in the middle of the street. I witnessed God's miraculous touch as Sanford endured those months of rehab at Dodd Hall following the surgery. His faith never wavered.
Then on the day after Landen died in 1999, I was literally broken and was in need of hope when Sanford arrived at my house. He was the only one God sent to me. He was sent that day to give me hope without which I would never have endured Landen's passing. Sanford was God's instrument and example set before us of His hope and faithfulness.
He is being honored today in heaven for a lifetime of faithfulness.
